What thickness of carpet is best?

The ideal carpet thickness will vary depending on the space and your preferences. Generally, a 7/16-inch thickness with a density of 6 pounds per cubic foot works well. For low-profile carpets, aim to pick a cushion no more than 3/8 inch thick with a density of 8 pounds per cubic foot.

Wool is known to be the softest carpet material. Nylon can also be manufactured to provide comfort and softness. Both materials are commonly used in bedrooms due to their plush texture.
